Cleveland, US – 5th July, 2018: A health care network responding to lawsuits says it wasn't liable for a storage tank malfunction that destroyed more than 4,000 eggs and embryos at its fertility clinic near Cleveland.

North Jeolla, South Korea – 5th July, 2018: The medical community is expressing shock and rage over a patient’s assault on an emergency room (ER) doctor in Iksan, North Jeolla Province.

At Iksan Hospital’s ER at about 10 p.m. on Sunday, the drunk patient attacked the physician, surnamed Lee, who was the head of the emergency medicine department.

Georgia, US – 11th July, 2018: Trial opened Tuesday over whether a doctor bears responsibility for the ultimately fatal heart attack a patient suffered after being disconnected from heart monitoring equipment at a Georgia hospital. 

According to the case's pre-trial order, Laura Herrington, 75, suffered a heart attack overnight on May 9-10, 2014, hours after allegedly being taken off of heart telemetry, or monitoring equipment, at Snellville’s Eastside Medical Center.

England – 3rd July, 2018: The NHS hopes to cut down the queue of morning calls to local GPs around England with its new app.

The app, which launches in England in December, will allow patients to make appointments, order repeat prescriptions, manage any long-term conditions they might have and access its 111 helpline online.

Rio De Janeiro, Brazil – 20th July, 2018: Police in Rio de Janeiro have arrested a celebrity plastic surgeon, known as “Dr Bumbum” along with his mother in connection with murder after one of his patients died following a surgical procedure conducted in his apartment on Saturday.

North Carolina, US – 27th July, 2018: A Huntersville cosmetic surgeon is still allowed to perform surgeries even though the medical board punished him saying he gave patients potentially dangerous levels of anesthesia.

The North Carolina medical board reprimanded the owner of Pure Med Spa for that and concerns over how he handled a patient’s death certificate after she died in his office.

Ghana – 18th June, 2018: A 22-year-old man is the latest person to level allegations of medical negligence against the Greater Accra Regional Hospital popularly known as Ridge Hospital.

According to Harrison Besanya, the negligence of the health authorities at the facility has left him with a protruding and rotten abdomen following a surgery six months ago for appendicitis.
