California, US – 1st April, 2018: Laura Robinson had severe sudden onset upper back pain, so she went to the hospital. The hospital ran a test and sent her home. A week later, she was back, but again, they sent her home. She died the next day.

Robinson’s children, Leea Robinson of Middletown and Kyi Robinson of Angwin, are now suing the hospitals she went to along with the doctors and radiologist she saw, alleging medical negligence.

Toronto, Canada – 26th March, 2018: When Shelley Wigham suffered a heart attack last summer, she was prescribed various cardiac medications. But the 64-year-old widow never took them.

She doesn’t have a drug plan, was already paying $125 a month for meds to treat depression and high blood pressure, and, despite juggling two jobs, couldn’t afford to tack $300 onto her already pricey pharmacy bill.

Venezuela – 30th March, 2018: Junior Rodriguez is used to seeing death and violence up close because he’s a doctor in a public hospital in Venezuela, one of the world’s most dangerous countries.

But the violence has been turning more personal for Rodriguez and the rest of the medical staff at the Dr. Luis Razetti de Barcelona University Hospital in the eastern state of Anzoategui.

Harrisburg, US – 9th March, 2018: A Chester County doctor was arrested and charged with illegally prescribing nearly 25,000 oxycodone, OxyContin, methadone and other pills to at least four patients, Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced Friday.

Dr. Bruce Lief, 77, of Chesterbrook, Tredyffrin Township, a psychiatrist, was arrested following a lengthy investigation.

Khulana, Bangladesh – 1st April, 2018: A pregnant woman has died at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) on Friday due to alleged medical negligence.

Manwara Begum, 32, wife of a certain Faruk Hossain, journalist of local daily Nawapara, was admitted to the hospital for delivery around 6:30am on Thursday.

Peterborough, UK – 6th March, 2018: Dr Andy Gregg, 48, who works at Peterborough City Hospital, was arrested on suspicion of gross negligent manslaughter and is on bail.

According to a High Court judgment, he is alleged to have "inappropriately hastened the death of patients in his care".

Seoul, South Korea – 24th March, 2018: A doctor was found guilty on the charge of involuntary manslaughter after he ordered a female patient who had postpartum haemorrhage to be transported to a hospital 40 kilometres away rather than to a nearby hospital, the Supreme Court said Friday. 


 

Missouri, US – 6th March, 2018: An orthopedic surgeon and a veterinarian were notified Monday that two patients have filed lawsuits alleging medical negligence in their knee surgeries. The lawsuits also contend the doctors failed to disclose the surgeries were experimental.

Brisbane, Australia – 18th March, 2018: A young stroke victim is suing one of Brisbane's largest hospitals after being sent home by doctors, who allegedly told her she'd probably had her drink spiked.

Amalia Young said she now suffers permanent brain damage, which could have been prevented with one simple test. Ms Young was just 24 when her life changed.
