Washington, US – 13th January: A judge on Friday sentenced Dr Hsiu-Ying Lisa Tseng, a Rowland Heights doctor, to 30 years to life in prison for the ‘murders’ of three of her patients who were fatally overdosed. The sentence came after a Los Angeles jury last year found Dr Tseng guilty of second-degree murder, the first time a doctor had been convicted of murder in the US for overprescribing drugs, the district attorney’s office said.

Washington, US – October 2015: As many as 293 patients of an Indian-American cardiologist around a small town in Indiana have filed lawsuits against him and two other doctors in his practice claiming that they performed needless procedures.

The Indiana state Medicaid programme has started an investigation against Munster, Indiana based Dr Arvind Gandhi and his partners, Dr Wail Asfour and Dr Satyaprakash Makam, according to the New York Times.
